| A manufacturer of gasoline
dispensers required an extremely accurate and reliable flow
sensor to track the dispensing of fuel into vehicles, and the
corresponding cost. The sensor needed to be immune to the
corrosive atmosphere inside a fuel dispenser. |

Cherry developed a custom magnetic
flow sensor using Hall Effect technology and packaged it in a
custom aluminum housing for maximum fire retardance. Cherry then
designed a magnetic target with 6 discreet magnets molded into a
ring to provide the required accuracy and hysteresis. |
